জনাব সুকেশ কুমার সরকার জাতীয় পরিকল্পনা ও উন্নয়ন একাডেমিতে ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৩ খ্রি. তারিখে মহাপরিচালক (সরকারের সচিব) পদে যোগদান করেন। এর পূর্বে তিনি বেসামরিক বিমান পরিবহন ও পর্যটন মন্ত্রণালয়ে ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২১ হতে ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৩ সময়ে অতিরিক্ত সচিব পদে কর্মরত ছিলেন।

 

সুকেশ কুমার সরকার বিসিএস ১৩’শ ব্যাচের (১৯৯১ ব্যাচ) একজন সদস্য। তিনি ১৯৯৪ সালের এপ্রিল মাসে এ সার্ভিসে যোগদান করেন। কর্মজীবনে তিনি বেসামরিক বিমান পরিবহন ও পর্যটন মন্ত্রণালয়সহ স্বাস্থ্য শিক্ষা ও পরিবার কল্যান বিভাগ, অর্থ বিভাগের Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) প্রকল্পে, পাবলিক প্রাইভেট পার্টনারশিপ (পিপিপি) অফিসে, বাংলাদেশ রেলওয়ে এবং বাস্তবায় পরিবীক্ষণ ও মূল্যায়ন বিভাগে অত্যন্ত দক্ষতা ও পেশাদারিত্বের সাথে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। তিনি ২০০৪ সাল থেকে সিপিটিইউ এর ‘National Trainer on Public Procurement Management’ হিসেবে কাজ করে আসছেন। এছাড়া তিনি Public Private Partnership এবং Supply Chain Management এর Trainer (প্রশিক্ষক) হিসেবেও কাজ করেছেন।

 

সুকেশ কুমার সরকার ১৯৯১ সালে বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (বুয়েট) হতে পুর কৌশলে স্নাতক (সম্মান) ডিগ্রী লাভ করেন। পরবর্তীতে তিনি MBA; LLB; ITC, Switzerland হতে Diploma-in-Supply Chain Management ডিগ্রীসহ যুক্তরাজ্যের Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) হতে Member Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) লাভ করেন। এছাড়া তিনি বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব প্রফেশনালস (বিইউপি)’তে PhD এর একজন গবেষক। তিনি দেশে ও বিদেশে নানাবিধ পেশাধর্মী প্রশিক্ষণ লাভ করেছেন। প্রশিক্ষণ ও সরকারি কাজে তিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, জাপান, নেদারল্যান্ড, ইতালি, ভিয়েতনাম, থাইল্যান্ড, দুবাই, শ্রীলংকা ভ্রমণ করেন।

 

সুকেশ কুমার সরকার ১৯৬৭ সালে রাজশাহী জেলার চারঘাট উপজেলায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তার পিতা স্বর্গীয় শ্যামাপদ সরকার এবং মাতা স্বর্গীয় অন্নপূর্না সরকার। ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে তিনি বিবাহিত এবং দুই কন্যা সন্তানের জনক।

Mr. Sukesh Kumar Sarker joined the National Academy for Planning and Development (NAPD) on 28 February 2023 as Director General (Secretary to the Government). Before that he had been Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism from February 2021 to February 2023.

 

Sukesh Kumar Sarker belongs to Bangladesh Civil Service of 13th batch (1991 batch). He joined this service in April 1994. He served under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division, Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) Project of Finance Division, Public Private Partnership Office, Bangladesh Railway, Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) with utmost skill and professionalism. He has been working as 'National Trainer on Public Procurement Management' conducted by CPTU since 2004. Besides, he has also worked as a Trainer of Public Private Partnership and Supply Chain Management.

 

Sukesh Kumar Sarker received his Bachelor's (Honours) Degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1991. Later he completed MBA and LLB. He obtained Diploma-in-Supply Chain Management Degree from ITC, Switzerland; Member, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), UK. He is a PhD researcher at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He has received various professional training at home and abroad. He traveled to USA, Japan, Netherlands, Italy, Vietnam, Thailand, Dubai and Sri Lanka for training and government work.

 

Sukesh Kumar Sarker was born in 1967 in Charghat Upazila of Rajshahi District. His father is Late Shyamapada Sarker and Mother is Late Annapurna Sarker. In personal life he is married and a father of two daughters.
